Welcome! Thanks for dropping by.

I do a lot of things that are, at least on the surface, completely unrelated. I’m a writer (101 books and counting—bad habit); I’m a photographer; I produce a Podcast called The Natural Curiosity Project, available on all major Podcast platforms; and, for the last 40+ years, I’ve been a consulting analyst for companies (and in some cases countries) that are looking to make the most of their investments in telecom and IT infrastructure, much of that in the so-called developing world. I’ve worked in more than 100 countries over the years, an honor that has given me humility, insight and experiences to draw from.

One of the typical questions I get from people I meet, like all of us, is “What do you do?” My snarky answer has always been, “How much time do you have?” but after thinking about it a bit, I’ve come to a realization. I’m a storyteller.

When I photograph, I photograph to tell the story of whatever my lens captures. When I produce a Podcast, I’m either telling a story myself, or giving my guest the opportunity to tell theirs, because stories matter, and we all have one to tell. When I take on consulting projects, my goal is to help my customers tell their story in a way that’s compelling and influential and powerful. And when I write? Article or book, white paper or opinion piece, video script or Podcast outline, fiction or non-fiction, the goal is the same—tell the story.

I’m a storyteller. And it always begins with writing. This site is dedicated to the craft of story, and writing, and listening, the core elements of creativity. I hope you enjoy the content that appears here.
